Who says you can't mix the old with the new? Here in my gentlemen's library I did just that. Modern furniture like the Parker chair and ottoman, Silver leaf table, Statue of Liberty wall frame, and the black Platt shelf mixed together with the retro photographer's floor lamp and the 3 Canton Boxes as the piece that stands out. Without the Canton boxes the room would look dull, with it there, not only is it functional but it brings the room to life. Notice also how there is a "cluttered structure" theme to the room, from the way the books are arranged to how the furniture is placed on the carpet. it looks a little chaotic, which brings our attention back to the structure of the Canton boxes.
Ethan Allen is more know to have a classic look and feel to their furniture designs, this is a different take on what they are normally known for. With the help of Jamie Reyes, interior designer from Ethan Allen and my better half Denisse Oca, I hope we created something that not only stands out but will also be an inspiration to people out there who want to "think outside the box" when it comes to design.
